Wills & Estates

A bequest — a gift to Heifer Foundation specified in your will — will give you peace of mind knowing that your support of Heifer's work of ending hunger and poverty will continue for many years after your lifetime. Providing a gift to Heifer in your will is a way to leave a legacy of helping others, and it can also have certain tax benefits for your estate and heirs.

Endowments

Heifer Foundation's endowment is built through charitable gifts, such as gifts of cash, property and stock, as well as funds from bequests, trusts and annuities. These gifts are invested, and the investment earnings provide annual support for Heifer for many years into the future.

Charitable Gift Annuities

You transfer property to us. In exchange we pay you fixed income for life. The fixed income can be quite high depending on your age. A portion of your income stream may even be tax-free. You will receive a charitable deduction for your gift and the satisfaction of furthering our mission.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

There are many reasons to set-up a Charitable Remainder Trust, These include

• Income for life, lives, or term of years
• Avoid capital gains on the sale of your appreciated assets
• Charitable income tax deduction for remainder portion of your gift
