Heifer International’s Learning Centers deliver educational programs showcasing Heifer’s model for global sustainable development. Learning Center Volunteers are an integral part of presenting Heifer’s mission to the public and exploring issues of world hunger and poverty while challenging learning center visitors to become more responsible global citizens.
Heifer Learning Center Volunteers:
• Lead Educational Programming
• Care for Livestock*
• Tend the Gardens*
• Provide Administrative Support
• Assist with Special Events
• Maintain Facilities*
• Greet Visitors at the Front Desk
• Work in the Gift Shop

You can become a residential or day volunteer. Residential volunteers live on-site and dedicate months, even an entire year, to full-time volunteering. Day volunteers live off-site and serve in a variety of full-or part-time roles. All volunteers are a part of the Learning Center team, dedicated people with a great sense of community and family.
To become a residential volunteer, you must be at least 18. The minimum age to become a day volunteer varies based on location and duties. To become a residential volunteer, view available residential volunteer positions and apply on-line.
