Empowering the World's Women

Donate Now

The vast majority of the world's poorest people are women.
With your support, Heifer's work provides women an opportunity to take charge of their lives and experience the dignity of self-reliance. Son Sinath, a mother of two from Cambodia, is an inspiring example of what is possible through the gift of an animal and training in its care. "Our condition was very poor," Son Sinath remembers. "We had food shortages every year." Through her involvement in Heifer's project in her village, she now earns in one year what used to take 18 years.

Heifer International's Role in Times of Disaster

Heifer has a designated fund for times when disasters affect projects in areas where we work. Earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, mudslides and other disasters leave millions of displaced people in their wakes. Families impacted by these events face uncertain futures as they struggle to feed themselves and to rebuild their lives. In Heifer's work around the world, we often partner with vulnerable communities in disaster-prone areas. The Heifer Disaster Rehabilitation Fund provides additional resources when our projects are affected by disasters that stretch their ability to cope. We need your help to be prepared.
