Dear Heifer Friend,

I have especially exciting news from our Vietnam office that I am eager to share with you.

Heifer Country Director Dang Thi Doan Trang reports that Heifer's work has been so successful that the government of Vietnam has offered to contribute more than $765,000 toward an important new project in the Mekong Delta region if we can raise a matching amount from our donors.

By making a gift today you can stretch your generosity twice as far in support of this important project. I don't have to tell you how much that would mean to the farming families living on less than $1 a day.

Everything is in place to begin training project families as soon as the project is fully funded.

We will be distributing 1,480 heifers to the families facing the most urgent need. As part of our holistic approach, we will also provide some families with grass seed for fodder, vaccines for their animals and earthworms to aid organic composting.

Since there will be two rounds of Passing on the Gift, we will ultimately reach 4,300 families in some of the world's poorest communities transform their lives.

Parents and children, like the family pictured above, wait in anticipation as they store up resources like grain for their heifer. It's the picture of hope and the dawn of a new future – a future you can be a part of when your gift to Vietnam is doubled today.
