Nepal Earthquake Relief & Recovery
Thousands of Heifer Families Still in Need After Second Quake in Nepal
Just two weeks after an earthquake left thousands of families in need of shelter, water and food, another massive tremor has struck Nepal. Heifer staff are reported safe, and we are working to assess any further damage to our project areas.
The initial 7.8-magnitude earthquake on April 25 killed 65 Heifer project participants, destroyed or damaged thousands of homes and killed at least 1,500 livestock. Since then, we have provided tents, blankets and mattresses for more than 10,000 families. Longer term work will include rebuilding the communities and providing livestock and related training.
Your donation will make a major impact in the lives of the families that need assistance. Please give now so that we can help our project participants begin the long recovery process. The total amount of your contribution to the Nepal Earthquake Relief & Recovery Fund will be used to assist families in Nepal.
