When the La Prosperidad cooperative Passed on the Gift of guinea pigs in Peru’s Chirinos District, 520 families gathered to be a part of the special day. The ceremony featured music, dancing and happy families who were excited to share gifts of food and income security. Watch now:
Thank you for passing on this beautiful Heifer celebration in Peru! I was there in 2004 and visited the office in Lima and saw the amazing work in a community near Cusco. I have a great photo of me and a little girl showing me her school book proudly. She can go to school now and some of the older girls are learning the skill of raising cuy! Beautiful work!
