Passing on the Gift Ceremony in Bangladesh

Passing on the Gift ceremony. 15 cows being passed on for this ceremony. Women are the leaders of the families. Most people in this area live on corporately-owned land and most live hand to mouth. According to Heifer statistics, 60% of people in this area are below the poverty line. Donor group: Mitjamak Women Group (19 members all tribal). Receiver group: Protiva Nari Unnyan Group (19 members includes 8 muslims + 11 tribals). Local dialect “Chautal” in which the songs are sung. Women, both Hindu and Muslim, dance and sing arm in arm. Rare occasion for Muslim women to do this in public.
