The 2nd annual “Beyond Hunger: Feast in the Field” will benefit Heifer programs here in Arkansas and family farmers in Haiti. Attendees will enjoy a “farm to fork” family style dinner from award-winning chefs from the Capital Hotel. Guests will hear from speakers about the importance of sustainable agriculture and how they can make smart choices in supporting local farmers. At 5:27 p.m. on April 10, 2014, a 6.1-magnitude earthquake centered near Lake Managua in Nicaragua occurred. All Heifer International Nicaragua staff members are safe and sound, and they have taken security measures at the office.
