From co-chairing Heifer's 60th Anniversary Gala to joining an upcoming Heifer study tour, sitcom star Ted Danson and his wife, Academy Award-winning actress and Joan of Arcadia co-star Mary Steenbergen, are active Heifer International supporters. Ted even went the extra mile at a recent White House event.

Heifer Reception, Washington D.C.
Heifer's May 2004 reception in Washington D.C. was a moving event as Heifer's president and CEO, Jo Luck, introduced Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton to Beatrice Biira, a 1991 Heifer recipient. Beatrice was the subject of the children's book, Beatrice's Goat, where Clinton wrote the afterword in the story. See the video.
Heifer Hearing, Washington D.C.
Heifer International held a hearing at the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington D.C. on May 13, 2004, that focused on the impact of livestock in economic growth and community development. Among the speakers were U.S. Senator, Blanche Lincoln, Joyce Turk from USAID, and many others including Beatrice Biira who received a goat from Heifer in 1991. View the clip.
